Turkey Drive for Active Duty and Veterans
The Veterans Association of North County (VANC) response to the COVID-19 pandemic was to start a food and diaper distribution and from April - October we have served 14,411 with 85.5% being Active Duty and 2,620 Volunteer hours and let's not forget the 164,400 diapers that we have given away! Every month we deliver to 6-8 housebound veterans that are sooo grateful.
VANC would like to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Encinitas Turkey Trot for renting the freezer trailer truck ($2,000.00) to store the frozen 10- 15 pound turkeys from Saturday November 7 to Thursday November 12 in our parking lot!
Please Make A Difference for the active duty and military veterans by DONATING A TURKEY FOR THEIR HOLIDAY DINNER!
We are requesting 10 to 15 pound frozen turkeys (size and weight is perfect to store in the rented freezer truck and have volunteers lift to put into vehicles).
You can bring your donated turkey to VANC between 9-4 Monday - Thursday November 9-12 or Saturday November 7 by calling for an appointment. If you are unable to bring a turkey feel free to call me and I will arrange a pick up or you can donate $20 and I will pick it up for you (just mail a check made out to VANC 1617 Mission Ave., Oceanside CA 92805).
If you would like to support this year's Encinitas 101 Virtual Turkey Trot" where 50% of proceeds go to VANC. Register below.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR AN ACTIVE DUTY AND MILITARY VETERAN FAMILY!
