2020- WOW!!! Can you believe what a year this turned out to be?
Where do I start? The obvious choice is COVID-19, which has affected all of us this year. Even so, we at VANC have an enormous amount to be grateful for, just the same. With the generosity of all of our wonderful volunteers working hard here, VANC has made a huge difference in so many of the lives of our Active Duty Military and Veterans, along with all of their many, many friends! Without you, the amazing people who donate their time and financial support to VANC, we would have been unable to help so many during this stressful time in our country. Together, with the help of the American Legion Post 760, and in conjunction with the San Diego Food Bank, we have been able to help provide food and diapers in a time of great shortages for many of our neighbors.
At the end of last year, VANC started a Veterans Emergency Financial Aid (VEFA) fund to offer active duty and military veterans a ONE TIME hand up. With your financial help, since April we have given thousands of dollars in cell phone bills, utilities, emergency car repairs and more, most in $200 or $300 increments.
We accomplished all of this, in spite of the fact that we did not receive any funding from the state or the federal government. Additionally, we were unable to rent out our beautiful meeting facilities to those who needed them. Even so, we were able to keep our doors open and follow our mission, with all of your generous assistance. We want to give you a heartfelt thank you and are grateful that you gave us your precious time and assistance to help with the great work we are doing here at VANC. For over 10 years, VANC has been committed to serving Active Duty and Military Veterans. We will continue to adVANCe our humanitarian work for our Past and Present Heroes!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
