Turkey Drive for Active Duty and Veterans
The Veterans Association of North County (VANC) response to the COVID-19 pandemic was to start a food and diaper distribution and from April - December we served over 30,000 with 85.5% being Active Duty and 3,000+ Volunteer hours. And let's not forget the 200,000+ diapers that we gave away! We also delivered to several housebound veterans that were sooo grateful.
For Thanksgiving, VANC held a turkey fundraiser where patrons could donate a turkey for our active duty and veteran servicepeople and their families. VANC would like to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Encinitas Turkey Trot for renting the freezer trailer truck ($2,000.00) and storing the frozen 10- 15 pound turkeys. We were able to hit our goal and help so many families.
